Mari Marcanio, R.N. was born and raised in
Florida. Mari is an registered nurse at
Baptist Hospital and is the Breast
Health Navigator and the Palliative Care
Coordinator of that institution . She
has also served as co-facilitator of the
breast cancer support group at Baptist
Hospital.
Mari is the Chairman of the local
American Cancer Society Board of
Directors, serves on the state-wide ACS
Breast Cancer Operating Committee,
serves as the chairman of the ACS
division Relay Operating Committee,
serves on the National Relay For Life
Advisory Committee, served as the
chairman of the inaugural Pensacola 2003
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
event for the American Cancer Society,
and has been heavily involved in Relay
For Life, serving as chairman for a
number of years.
In 2002, she received the local
American Cancer Society Hope Award for
“exemplary volunteer achievement in
cancer control” and was also the Susan
G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
community hero in the fight against
cancer. In 2006, Mari received the
regional American Cancer Society Hope
Award and was awarded the Diamond Award
in 2004 from the Women’s Business Center
of the Emerald Coast.
Mari is married and is the mother of
three. She has been very active in her
children’s many school activities and
now serves as the President of the
Escambia High School Band Booster’s. |
